Dhu’l Hijjah is the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar and of which the first ten days are filled with a blessing. That blessing is the yearly journey of 2 million pilgrims to Mecca to answer the call of our creator and sustainer to come to His house and perform the Hajj rituals culminating in Arafat and ‘Eid al Adha.

Performance of the Hajj is incumbent on every Muslim man and woman who is financially and physically able to do so. Those of us who remain at our homes urge our brothers and sisters on and perform other deeds of worship as we are able.

Sabr and Shukr – Faith in Allah (swt)

Aasiyah was the wife of Pharoh. Her faith in Allah (swt) thrived under the shadow of her husband who said, “I am your Lord, Most High!” When news reached Pharoh of his wife’s faith he beat her and commanded his guards to beat her. They took her out in the scalding noon heat, tied her hands and feet and beat her perpetually. Who did she turn to? She turned to Allah (swt)! She prayed, “My lord, build for me a home with you in Paradise and save me from Pharoh and his deeds and save me from the
transgressing.”

The last ten days of Ramadan – Freedom

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

As salaam alaykum!

Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) said,

“If any Muslim comes out of Ramadan without gaining forgiveness and goodness, he is a real loser.”

(Ibn Hibban and At-Tabarani)

The last ten days of Ramadan are very special days in the life of every Muslim. They are the most blessed days in the holy month of Ramadan, the month the Holy Qur’an was revealed.
