Ramadan and Forgiveness – the middle ten days

Rasul Allah, (saw) has said:

Ramadan is the month, whose beginning is mercy, its middle, forgiveness and its end, emancipation from the fire (of hell)”

— Bihar al-Anwar, Vol.: 93, Pg.: 342

We have now entered, by the grace of Allah (swt), the middle ten days of Ramadan, 1446. The middle ten days of Ramadan is the time for Maghfirah, forgiveness; the time to wash off our sins. Ramadan is the month to seek forgiveness and repentance. Having witnessed the Mercy of Allah (swt) in the first ten days of Ramadan by thanking Him for all that He has granted us, by being good to everyone and keeping ourselves at peace, we realize our relationship with our Rabb, and our role and duties towards Him. This is the time when Allah’s (swt) Mercy is at its peak, and it is best to utilize this opportunity by imploring Allah to forgive. Rasul Allah (saw) is reported to have said:

The First Part of Ramadan is Mercy

السلام عليكوم

Beloved friends, brothers and sisters – today we entered the sacred month of Ramadan, alhamdulillah!

Rasool allah (SAW) has said “The first part of Ramadan is a mercy……………”

Are we taking advantage of this mercy? Do we accept the mercy of Allah (swt) for us and are we merciful towards others?

I am always amazed and pleased when I see the evidence of the upsurge of Islam in this country. I remember I read an article about the call that Islam has to people of Hispanic Origin in this country and elsewhere. I have several contacts in Mexico of people who have converted to Islam.

Salat al Ashiqin

Salat al-‘Ashiqin

This practice was recommended to me by Pir Zia during the month of Ramadhan. It is done

silently after ‘Isha.

Make your intention to do 4 rakat.

2 sets of 2.

1st rakat recite sura al Fatiha 1 time and then Ya Allah 100 times (all in the standing position

then finish rakat)

2nd rakat recite sura al Fatiha 1 time and then Ya Rahman 100 times

short break

3rd rakat recite sura al Fatiha 1 time and then Ya Raheem 100 times

4th rakat recite sura al Fatiha 1 time and then Ya Wadud 100 times

Salaams.

In all 4 rakats the recitation is done standing and when finished proceed with the positions

of salat as you would normally do them. Just take a short rest in between the second and

third rakats.
