Salat al Ashiqin

Salat al-‘Ashiqin

This practice was recommended to me by Pir Zia during the month of Ramadhan. It is done

silently after ‘Isha.

Make your intention to do 4 rakat.

2 sets of 2.

1st rakat recite sura al Fatiha 1 time and then Ya Allah 100 times (all in the standing position

then finish rakat)

2nd rakat recite sura al Fatiha 1 time and then Ya Rahman 100 times

short break

3rd rakat recite sura al Fatiha 1 time and then Ya Raheem 100 times

4th rakat recite sura al Fatiha 1 time and then Ya Wadud 100 times

Salaams.

In all 4 rakats the recitation is done standing and when finished proceed with the positions

of salat as you would normally do them. Just take a short rest in between the second and

third rakats.

13th September Hejirat Day – 1910CE

Hazrat Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan
Hazrat Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan

When Inayat Khan came to the West — 120 years ago – from his perspective we might call it “the mysterious West” — in 1910, he brought with him the traditions of the Sufi schools of India and Central Asia. He came with the intention of bringing harmony, and even as the methods he was to teach were all but unknown to a Eurocentric, post-Victorian society, so was the ground in which his seeds were to be sown a world unknown to him.

13th September Urs of Noor-un-Nisa Inayat Khan, d. Dachau, Germany, 1944

This information is taken from the Inayati Order Website (www.inayatiorder.org)

Noor-un-nisa Inayat Khan was the first child of Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan and his American wife, Amina Begum (nee Ora Ray Baker). With the genetic heritage of Eastern and Western Mystics, Noor was a child of destiny. She deeply affected the hearts of all those she encountered, from her childhood meeting with her father’s disciples, to the Nazi interrogators who destroyed her body, but could not break her spirit.
