Courage

Courage is not the sword held high,
Nor thunder in a battle cry;
It lives where trembling hearts still stand,
With faith in Allah’s guiding hand.

It is the truth the tongue will speak,
When praise is strong and blame is weak;
To guard the poor, forgive the wrong,
And make the patient spirit strong.

It walks with sabr through grief and night,
And keeps the longing hope in sight;
It bows in prayer, yet rises brave,
No fear of loss, no want to crave.

For courage blooms where mercy grows,
Where justice answers human woes;
Where trust in God makes souls complete,
And humble hearts refuse defeat.

So let the faithful courage be
A lantern lit by tawheed’s sea:
To live with honor, strive, and pray,
And choose Allah’s path each day.
